I am sieving on a 1660 Ti with a B set to 13. It is not slowing down any concurrent activity such as web browsing or working in Excel. So I am wondering would it be worthwhile for me to push it up a notch or two? (I can test it, but I don't want to do anything that others have already found to screw up stability.)

Also when starting the sieve it says it is using a 79 bit core. Any idea what that means?

I have no idea about this, I would say your best bet is to reserve some small ranges and play around with it in the downtime :)

Also, while Googling a bit, I found a neat bit reading, maybe some folks can get something out of this (because I sure can't :S)

It's locked to 13 in the source code. This parameter determines size of GPU buffers and some other stuff which many (or even all) of us do not understand. Probably there is some reason why it cannot go above 13. Anyway, you can download source code and play with it (comparing output with known ranges).

Also when starting the sieve it says it is using a 79 bit core. Any idea what that means?

Depending on range tested, all calculations could be done with 63-, 64-, and 79-bit precision, there are three separate "cores". The latter is slowest.
