Over the past few days one of my machines (944117) has been processing mothing but 321 Sieve.

In some ways I don't mind this. 321 Sieve is my most plausible Gold badge and when I get it I while unsubscribe 321 Sieve for a while. But that machine is also subscribed to SGS, PPS, GFN.

I am curious what could be happening.

That's indeed odd.

Do you have an app_config.xml file? I can't see that from the server side, and everything on this side looks correct.

It's not related to the recent MT change because this started before the change was made.

321 sieve is set to a higher weight, so you're supposed to be getting more of them. Just not that many more. I did lower the weight a little bit (it was slightly higher than I intended), but I honestly have no real explanation.

If the weight change doesn't fix the problem, I'd suggest resetting the PrimeGrid project. That will erase any PrimeGrid tasks on you computer, so you should run the queue dry first.

I am relieved that someone else thinks this odd.

No, I have never created one and I could not find one in my boinc installation.

Just to be clear the machine last downloaded something other than 321 sieve on the 3rd September. As far as I can tell it has processed exactly one mt WU. So if I wanted to point my finger at the MT change I would claim that it is the download of one MT work unit that causes the change. However I don't think I really have the evidence for such a claim.

In any case my other machines will free up some space over the weekend so may be a pattern will emerge then.

Is there any way of modifying the weight on the client side (as there is for PSA)?

No, this is purely a server-side setting.

The signs are that this has resolved itself. The only thing I did was add "PPS-DIV" to the subscriptions and update.

May be it's back. Last night I could see it had enough work for the 321 sieve gold badge so I removed 321 Sieve from subscription. Then it stopped getting work.

When I got home I ran an update and it did get work. Looking at the log I can see these messages:

So I no you said to drain the queue and the detach/reattach. But I am puzzled. It looks like it might be running out of work but if I do an update the issue is temporarily fixed.

I don't have time today to hang around and wait for the queue to drain. I should be able to do that over the weekend.
