We're currently testing a new sieve wrapper. It's mostly bug fixes, and should make the sieve more reliable.

If you would like to help test, please attach to our test server, "CompositeGrid", at https://dev.primegrid.com/ and run the 321-sieve app.

There's no need to run lots of tasks. One or two will do it. We mostly want to make sure the tasks run on a variety of hardware and platforms, so both old and new computers will be useful for this test.

You can report your results here.

We have Mac, Linux, and Windows apps in both 32 and 64 bit varieties, although the 32 bit Mac app isn't installed yet.

There's no credit or WUProp hours or actual sieving done, so don't run a zillion tasks. We just need to make sure the code works correctly on everyone's hardware.

Got another host involved.
It's an AVX-512 capable, 2 CPUs 16-cores each, HT disabled Win 10 host.

BOINC is set to Use at most 90% of CPUs, so only" 28 cores for BOINC.

BOINC downloaded 28 tasks as expected, started 21 of them (it has live PG with 4 Cullen tasks with 7 thread each and one Cul task continuted). One of 21 tasks got 5-sec error out - https://dev.primegrid.com/result.php?resultid=483, others are running as expected and 6 are waiting.
I will let them finish and see in the morning what happened...

My stats

Most of my systems are rather samey... Win10-64+Intel. Got units running on 8086k and 6700k, no problems so far, just waiting for them to finish.

Two host, one is on Win7 ( i7-2700K ) second is on Win 10( i5-4670K )

Edit: they're not, the default preferences weren't right.

There's a new 32-bit Linux and 64-bit Mac wrapper on dev. These should fix the bad % done (Linux) and zero CPU time (Mac) bugs.

Please give those a try if you have a chance.

Presumably it works on the real server, right? I think one of the things I did on dev messed up one of the files. I wouldn't worry about it too much as long as it works on the real system.
