Michael, with the new server/forum, do you think it's possible, for me, to continuously edit the first message and update the tables to avoid a very long thread?

His face hidden by a overly gaudy hooded black robe, the Primus Nerdus motions Aillas to kneel. The Primus then removes a gold-hilted mithril claymore from its scabbard and gently lays the tremendous blade first on Aillas's left shoulder and then on Aillas's right shoulder. Lifting the claymore towards the heavens, the Primus intones in a voice barely audible, "Welcome to the sacred order of the Moderati. Don't break anything." Returning the mithril claymore to its scabbard, the Primus Nerdus turns and vanishes into the shadows.
Aillas looks subtly different somehow.

O Mighty Moderator Aillas, I petition thee to change the format of the 2019 Mega Prime Summary table.
IMO separate tables (by month, and by subproject) are better than a single wide table, as you last posted.
On a wide screen, the years column on the left is far from the rightmost data columns, hard to visually align.
And on a 90-degreed rotated screen, the single wide table doesn't fit and requires horizontal scrolling. |

I originally designed it with 2 tables but I merged them because it would take less space, especially if I had to post all these tables for each new MP.
Now, as I can update my first post, I will split the table. It's more readable.

Thanks.
I would also benefit the community to keep trimming down this thread to the first post, as issues are addressed.
Longer web pages take extra time to scroll and render on our poor computers whose GPUs are already burdened by GFN tasks. |

Yeah, it seems to be normal behavior.
The same happens in a challenge thread, when Michael updates the clean up status in the last post.

Under "2019 Mega Prime Summary by Projects" G19 should be 7 total.
Edit: 1 extra in 2011
Edit2: I think G18 should be 27.

Or course deliberate mistake, just to check we're reading them I'm sure 👍 I sometimes put references to star wars deep inside instructions manuals which rarely get reported back :D

With this new record we catch up the number of primes found since the beginning of the year with the one of 2018.
2018: Jan+Feb+Mar+Apr = 41
2019: Jan+Feb+Mar+Apr = 41
And we still have few days to beat it :)
We are also on track to for the record of 2018 with 93 mega primes.

There's more that are shared.
There's 3 primes found elsewhere that shared the credit with us (presumably because we did the sieving, but that's just a guess as it was before my time.) There's several primes we found where we shared the credit with the "main" project. That SoB is one of them.

GFN17-MEGA are "normal".
In 2019, 31 GF-17 primes were found in [55200000; 61030988]. 27.38 were expected in that range and prob(31 or more) = 27%.
But we have
0 GF-18 prime in [6291334; 7900000] => expected 5.06, prob(0) = 0.63%
3 GF-19 primes in [2733014; 2877652] => expected 0.24, prob(3 or more) = 0.21%
Huge primes are some rare events and then are not predictable. |

Hmm, the only single-mega-prime month since April 2016? The raw end of the Bell curve, I guess.
There were 5 mega primes in July (that tied the record for the month of July).
However, I did stop posting on the forums about every mega prime.

I've just managed to crunch PSA (multi-threaded) and I'm trying 27 and 121 for PSA badges (I currently have none).
I plan to move to PPS-DIV when the next challenge begins.
Will there be any Mega Primes left to be found then ? for a humble cruncher ? :)

That's 16 for the month and 83 for the year. Not only is that the most mega primes in any September, but it's the second highest total for any month, tying the then-record total of 16 mega primes in February of last year during TdP.

Strange that none of those 16 mega primes is a GFN-17 Mega (as someone mentioned on Discord). If we do not find a GFN-17 Mega in September 2019, it will be the first month like that since December 2017, I think. /JeppeSN |
