Hi,
how sub-projects are choosen to be added to Primegrid?
There are lot of "Prime" projects outside like:
Octoproth and more
or like Wieferich primes
Do you plan to add other sub-projects to Primegrid in 2008?
Could you talk about or it's a secret/surprise ;) ?
Do you think projects like Octo/Deca/Hexa proth or Wieferich could be added in the future?
Thanks

Most of the time it is a case of
Are the projects are willing/desiring to have primegrid help out?
And yes there are new projects on the way... I dont know what they are though...

Hi,
how sub-projects are choosen to be added to Primegrid?
...
Thanks
Ludo
In 2007, the primary focus was on simplicity...how easily could a new sub-project be implemented within PrimeGrid and BOINC. Since the LLR app was set up first, forms that could be primality tested using that program were researched.
In 2008, we'll continue that philosophy. As for adding new primality apps, that's always a possibility for the future. However, right now there's still plenty of work for LLR. More specialized searches may begin at the end of this year.
Yes, new sub-projects (LLR based) are being planned for this year. Information will be released when appropriate as contact and coordination with established efforts will be honored first.
With the addition of more sub-projects, we need more users. 2007 saw the tripling of PrimeGrid's user base. This was wonderful. However, we need to see the same, if not more, this year. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.
Also, we're still working on additional builds for our current apps. Builds such as 64 bit Linux for the sieves, MacIntel for all projects, 32 bit Linux for Cullen and PSP, etc. As you can see, there's still a lot of work to do.
I hope this was helpful!

Yes, thanks a lot.
I think one thing that make a project attractive among other are statistics. More often, Boinc stats are poor. If you could make Primegrid stat more attractive, I think you could have more people.
