Hi there, I'm a new user and I'd like somebody to give me some suggestions about which subprojects I should get WUs from.
I have a normal laptop with a not very fast CPU, a i7-5500U, and my GPU unfortunately does not even work properly. I use it on average 4 or 5 hours a day.
Based on these informations i chose the following subprojects:
-PPS, PPSE and PPS-Mega tests
-SGS tests
-GFN-15 tests
-GCW sieve
I chose these ones because I can complete the WUs pretty quickly so I have not the risk of passing the deadline. Now, should I add other subprojects? Remove some of the ones I have selected? I'm open to advices :)

Thank you for the attention, and sorry for my bad English.

Those are reasonable selections if your goal is to run short tasks.

Some other things to consider:

* Heat can sometimes be a problem with laptops, although a relatively new laptop like yours probably will run fairly cool. But if you're concerned with heat, run the sieves or AP27 rather than LLR or GFN.

* GFN-15 and SGS find primes, but the primes are too small to be reported to the Top 5000 primes website. If that's important to you, run GFN-16 or PPSE-LLR instead.

* The sieves can never find primes themselves. They assist the prime finding projects by making those projects more efficient. If finding primes is important to you, the sieves won't do that.

* AP27 is different. It doesn't find large primes. It finds progressions of relatively small primes. This can be fun too, and it's relatively easy to find the smaller progressions. This is where you're most likely to find "something".

I'm not intersted in finding Top 5000 primes, i just want to give my small contribution to the project. However, thank you a lot for the reply and the useful informations! :)
