As part of our upcoming server move, PRPNet will not be giving out new work. Jobs in progress can still be returned for credit. We've had problems getting PRPNet to work on a recent version of linux and won't have the time to do so immediately when we switch to the new servers. We'll leave the RackSpace PRPNet server up for as long as possible, but when it starts costing us real money it's getting shut down. |

What actions do you need to take?
If you're running PRPNet, you won't be getting any more tasks. You may complete and return the tasks you're currently running.
Please switch over to BOINC tasks once the PRPNet tasks are completed.
Information about returning PRPNet to service will be announced at a later date. And by that I mean, "when we know more". Our priority right now is the BOINC server, and furthermore there's special problems with setting up PRPNet, so we're not really sure what will happen, or when.

to spread the info I copy/paste the info to my stats with a link to the PSA forum
no further action planned on my side at this moment; the page will stay online;
When the servers are back I had to check if stats already work, if not I am willing to fix them.

I suspect when/if the server comes back the stats should work fine, as long as you're connecting with a URL and not the IP. The server name will stay the same. The IP will not.

It would be nice if the FPS project got migrated to Boinc if prpnet doesn't come back.

If many people change to PRPNet, the 27 and 121 servers will dry soon.
Also, 2 questions:
Is there a way to use multi-threading on PRPnet?
The default LLRexe application is LLR, but there's an LLR64 on the programs fold. Which one should be used on x86_64 systems?

The server emails me when it will need new work. In fact it start 10 days before its best estimate of running dry.

Maybe we should let something actually run out of work, just to freak everyone out. :)
When was the last time anything here ran out of work, excluding when we've intentionally shut down a project?

there is at the moment a differnce between server-stats (6 in progress) and pending tests (7)
uups - it is gone; maybe a caching problem ...

It's not caching. Some stats on PRPNet are updated periodically, some happen in real time.
