Before anybody jump and say: that is easy, I will tell this is specific situation.
So, when you do GridCoin you join the pool, your computer is join the team. Then you select what GPU you have (ATI or Nvidia) and that is all. You cannot select exactly type for work ( PP sieve, Genefer, AP27) so that is my problem.
Is any other way ( like for example cc_config.xml) or something similar that will allow me to choose , and work only PPsieve!
Any suggestion is welcome!

That was the exact reason I went solo instead of joining the pool. There is no advantage to joining a pool instead of going solo. So what if you don't paid daily and instead get paid every 2-3 weeks. At least you're not giving away 2% and at least you will get credit for any prime you discover.

Neo, as we spoke: I must collect initially at least few thousands GRC to start solo mining. And I mean time I must build RAC to get magnitude. But I also noticed that RAC stay long after you stop working, so you have some income coins without working anything. And that part I try to increase.
when I collect coins, and when stakle is possibile in few days... then solo is my option.
P.S I do only PPsieve so there is no primes :) :) :)

So I got info that I need to create app_config.xml, so I can only choose to get PPS workunits, but even i put it in Boinc/Data directory ( Boinc read that file) nothing is happening: Boinc download all types of GPU units.
Any suggestion?

app_config.xml and app_info.xml would go in BOINC/projects/www.primegrid.com/, not in the main BOINC/data directory. I don't know anything about gridcoin, so I have no idea if this will solve your problem, but that's where those xml files need to be in order to do anything.
(There is no BOINC/data directory.)

You dont need to know anything about gridcoin, just need to know ( if you know) how to tell ( with app_config.xml and app_info.xml) that host only download PPS tasks ( now it download ALL GPU tasks)
What should be written in those files?
P.S I change to location you suggested, but nothing is changed: again host download ALL type of GPU tasks ( GFNxx, PPS sieve, AP27)

Unfortunately, beyond giving you the correct directory for the files, I can't help you. Neither app_info nor app_config is intended to determine what kind of tasks should be downloaded. That's done by the website preferences pages.
If Gridcoin is acting as some sort of account manager and is forcing you to run tasks you don't wish to run, I have no advice as to how you might circumvent that restriction.

I have seen it done in the past, only getting one type of workunit before but don't remember how it was done right now. Ever since projects came up with the better way of doing it on their websites the old way has gone away for most projects. |
