I've noticed that the fixed amount of credit given for TPS workunits seems to be increasing. A couple of days ago, it changed from the 1.25 per test that it had been at for a long time, to 1.30--and just today, I've noticed that it changed to 1.32! Since TPS workunits don't change in length for all the while we're on this n, why is this happening?

I'm not complaining, but I am wondering why this is happening. :-)

In fact they do change in length, although not as fast as for Cullen/Woodall. If you compare the current time your machines needs to crunch one WU to the time it used a few weeks/month ago you will probably see the difference. ;)

I guess that means that finding a prime would therefore reward 2.60 or 2.64 now.... I'm on a slow streak and haven't found a prime since the bump in granted credits....

The time it takes to do an LLR test depends entirely on the n value, not the k value--and since TPS uses a fixed n, but a variable k, all the tests for this n will take just as long.

Cullen/Woodall, however, has variable n's, so its times are highly variable.

I think I heard somewhere in the forum that Rytis was upping the credit, but I thought that was only for Cullen/Woodall and Primegen.

We're trying to balance credit over multiple projects.
