I'm sure power and mobile phones are down. So he may not get to post for a while.

The BBC website says (correctly or incorrectly) that the stronger, second 'quake caused some damage but incurred no casualties. So whilst it's pretty insane and scary thinking a team-mate is going through this, hopefully we can assume he's OK.

Edit: The BBC have changed their report since they said that, although there is nothing specific. The BBC do that with everything, they revise in real-time, so what they report, everyone else knows anyway. Some reports of people stuck in buildings, etc.

As Brink says though, presumably the communications infrastructure is all down, so hopefully he and everyone he knows are OK, and his last priority is checking PG.

I just checked and a couple of Z-san's machines are contacting the PG server. However, a huge number seem to be offline with last contact much earlier today and most of them yesterday.

It's just the server rooms being down, isn't it - he said he'd stopped crunching when he started the thread, so his continuing credit is (or was...) all pending stuff, having been returned first, which non-earthquake-hit people are now validating.
