i thought i had some decent computers so i thought id crunch for this fathers day goal. and then to find out I don't rank as high as a lot of people. its almost depressing enough to make me not want to crunch to more. Its like my computers are totally wrong for this stuff. I see people with high numbers all the time, but they been here for a long time. This test put us all on equal start times, and i was totally shocked by results.

They don't have better computers than you have; they have more computers than you have.
Some of the people with names at the top of the list have 20 or more computers in their homes; others have access to servers -- dozens or hundreds -- and can bring a ridiculous amount of computing power to the party. The person at the top of the list said he has 2500 cores available to crunch with.
What other people are capable of doing doesn't diminish your own contributions.

Intel better than AMD
At least on this project, I have noticed that.
However it does not stop me going for my goals and pushing this new sub-project up to Silver so it can match my other badges.
I might not get there as quick as some but I will get there.

Whatever your performance compared to everyone else, you 'recalibrate' yourself to achieve your own goals/minigoals. It's just as fun, if you have an RAC of 600000 or 60.

Once again I will get no challenge points, but this is not a problem.
I will finish in the top 300, which is better than normal and my team looks like being in the top 60 for the first time (unless that is achieved with the 'pending' challenge on Woodall).
I don't care what others are doing, I use challenged to rate my own improvement.
Remember that Credit is directly proportional to the power bill, and primes are related to how lucky you are!!
Considering there are just over 500 challengers then you will be in the top 500 out of (I think) about 9,000,000,000 since most of the worlds population are not in this challenge, which is not too bad a placing for you.

i thought my points were low for this task, then i loose all power due to tornado. so i lost the whole last day.. uggg. lol... sry, just thought id vent about losing points since i cant be mad about loosing my house or anything else. :) kinda puts things into prespective.
PS: Sarcasm implied:
But still a great test to see how different computers crunch. and i did get a badge :)

So in the big picture, Challenge points are just what, another measuring stick for comparing progress vs. others?

Nevermind the house -- that can be replaced. I'm glad YOU are ok! And congratulations on the badge! :)
