Looking at the PPS Sv tasks I have pending validation, I noticed that even though we're set for 2 to validate, the task is only sent to 1 host initially, then to the 2nd once the first returns it. Is this correct? I would expect the initial distribution to at least match the minimum for validation.

You are correct. The way that works is part of our reaction to the cheating a few people were doing on the PPS Sieving. We have a policy of not discussing our anti-cheating measures, though. | |

Oh, I know why the quorum of 2 is in place, I just expected them to go out at the same time. All good regardless.

I thought that we were dc'ing all PPS sieves these days (after the cheats were discovered) but I've noticed a few I have returned and that are marked as valid only have quorum of one. Are we starting to trust again?
I understand that you are keeping your anti-cheating measures close to your chest so I'm not expecting a reply or explanation.
Regards,
Pete.

Nothing has changed. Not every WU is double checked, but there's plenty of anti-cheating mechanisms in place even with a quorum of 1.

What does this (the 'disabled') mean, and how can I enable it again?
Proth Prime Search (Sieve) CPU, Nvidia (CUDA) (disabled), AMD/ATI (OpenCL) (disabled)
Can it have to do with my GTX 260 having died and replacing it with a GTX 650? I had no trouble receiving PPS Sieve WUs while the GTX 260 was still functioning, but soon after the switch to the GTX 650 WUs did not come anymore. Switched the box to other projects in the meanwhile.

Disabled in this case means you didn't select a GPU checkbox at the top, so you can't select GPU subprojects.
Use NVIDIA GPU and/or
Use ATI GPU | |
