OK, so I've run Primegrid for some time, but only now have I gotten into sieving. I have a question about fpsieve: What does checkpointing actually save?

If you are running fsieve or fsievecl, a checkpoint will be written every minute or so and will save current progress. This allows you to stop the program with ^C (or an inadvertent restart/power outage) that you will not have to restart from the beginning of the range.
