PrimeGrid's PRPNet Challenge Series is an informal gathering of monthly competitions. The purpose is to spotlight a specific project within PRPNet as well as to offer a little "healthy" competition. It is also an opportunity for people to learn more about each specific project and have fun doing it. Below is a tentative schedule for 2013:
01 - 01-xx January - PPSElow - New Year Cleaning - until port is empty
02 - 01-28 February - all Top5000 prime projects - Tour de Primes - whole month
03 - 10-15 March - ESP - Are you clairvoyant? - 5 days
04 - 04-06 April - GCW - Aggie's Birthday / World Rat Day - 2 days
05 - 17-19 May - WSS - Over the Wall - Comes the Sun/Sun - 2 days
06 - 09-14 June - SR5 - Where even k's get a chance! - 5 days
07 - 07-12 July - Factorial - The Facts of Life - 5 days
08 - 15-17 August - GFN32768 - summer heat - 2 days
09 - 02-07 September - 121 - 121 Days and Counting - 5 days
10 - 13-18 October - 27 - autumn fog - 5 days
11 - 08-10 November - WFS - Where's Wieferich (Waldo's Cousin)? - 2 days
12 - 03-08 December - Primorial - Today's Soup "Primorial" - 5 days
In the past, there have been several mini-challenges in PRPNet which were nice spotlights to these unique projects. In 2012 John has started the monthly challenge series and in my opinion it was a success. Hopefully it is in 2013 and will give people time to prepare for each challenge...and thus, more will decide to participate.
