In the very near future, I will be loading all, or at least most, primes found via PRPNet into the Top Prime Finders" page. The primes will also show up in your personal prime list, which can be reached by clicking on any of the "Primes Found" numbers on your main account name.
As of right now, all GFN primes have been loaded. See this post for details. This includes the 5 GFN primes that were found via BOINC but haven't been included in the prime lists until now.
I expect most primes to be loaded within a few days. There may be some delays in loading some of the primes, notably the Primorial, Factorial, SR5, and one collection of old primes (because I'm not sure what they are yet.) But the vast majority should be loaded fairly soon.

Brilliant!! I've only started PRPNet this week and have no primes there yet but I'm sure this will make a lot of people very, very happy.

The 27121 (both 27 and 121), GCW, ESP, and Mega Primes from PRPNet have now been loaded.
It may take up to an hour for the primes to appear on the appropriate web pages.
Note that GCW will display incorrect lengths until the server scripts can be fixed.

Thanks to John's assistance, I may be able to load in a substantial number of older primes that were found here long ago. These are mostly (or entirely) comparatively small PPS primes.

Michael,
Thank you and the other volunteers for all the hard work. The volunteers on this system do a grand job and they do not get enough thanks. Back when I ran a BBS/small ISP in the late 80's to late 90's we never heard many thanks. I even have fallen into the complainer position myself once in a while, but there are many of us, silent as we may be, who do really understand and appreciate the extra time you take out of your day to volunteer here and make a difference.
The list is looking nice. Is this going to be more of an automated process, or are you going to have to do this manually every so often?
Keep up the awesome work. |

It's really hard (nothing is impossible) to automate a linkage between PRPNet and BOINC, because they use different user IDs. That's why credit is a manual process. The actual moving of the primes from one database to another isn't very hard to do manually, and could also be automated easily enough, but making sure they're assigned to the right person works best when there's eyeballs looking at the data.

The most recent 8000 or so PPS primes have been loaded (not counting any found in the last couple of days.)
Except for Primorial and Factorial primes, that completes the loading of PPRNet primes -- at least those that are relatively recent.
I have a bunch of sources for older PRPNet primes and I'll probably be adding them soon. Or at least soonish. Maybe. Things always get more complex than they looked at first glance.

Next logical change is to add a "Primes found" field for the Project Staging Area work on the "Your account" page. Doesn't have to be updated at all often. I've only ever found one Prime and that was in PSA.

There's a distinction between changes that require modifying the scripts on the server, and changes that require working with the database.
At this time, changing the scripts is more complicated, so what you're suggesting might make sense, but it's not something I can do autonomously.
That's not to say it won't happen, only that it's more involved than one might expect.

Would it be possible to add a "Date Found" column in the users prime list?
Or would that be too much work at this time.

That information doesn't exist for the BOINC primes. At least not anywhere that's easily accessible.
For some of the PRPNet primes (which, I think, includes all of the ones I've added so far, but definitely not all of the ones I haven't added yet) I have that information. If the server were to be modified to store and display that information, it would be fairly easy to add the dates, when available, to the database.

Primes large enough to enter top5000-db have the date stored when they were entered... that would cover almost all Boinc primes, wouldnt it? |

Primes large enough to enter top5000-db have the date stored when they were entered... that would cover almost all Boinc primes, wouldnt it?
If we were to change the system to store and display the dates, all new primes would save the date.
The question is what about the tens of thousands of primes that have already been found?
The BOINC database does not store the date the primes were found, and the vast majority of them have fallen off the top 5000 list. If they were ever on the list, however, they're still in the top 5000 database.
However, the date displayed in the top 5000 is the date that the prime was reported to the list, not the date that the prime was found. They're not the same, and in some cases there's a substantial delay between the time the prime was found and when it's reported to the list.
If it's possible to get a dump or machine readable version of the top 5000 list (which is likely), it should be possible to add dates for most of the primes. They won't be the right dates, but they'll be close enough and certainly better than nothing.
Important: ALL of this is speculative. Nobody is saying that ANY changes are actually going to happen. I hope they do, but please don't think that this is reality just because all of us would like to see it happen.

Counting 2010, 2011, and 2012, those three PPSE ports contain about 20,000 primes.

I still have even older server logs that may contain even more old primes.
It turns out that most of those primes either were already gathered from other sources, or had no user information (i.e., they were just a list of primes with no other data). There were, however, about 11 thousand old small primes that were not already in the database that I was able to add.
That's the last of the old primes that will be added. Going forward, new PRPNet and GFN primes will be added as they're discovered, and eventually the factorial and primorial primes will also be added once the necessary script changes are made.

PG has found 3 factorial and 2 primorial. The biggest factorial was found outside of PG. So... 5 total.
EDIT:- Incidentally, I just found a bug in the forum software -- it uses targe="_new" attribute to the links. "_new" is not a recognized keyword, and is treated as a name. So multiple links are opening in the same window. It should be "_blank". |

When displaying a user's primes, the displayed length of primes with a base other than 2 (e.g., GFN, SR5, GCW) now display the length correctly.
Long text names are now used for all projects. The list hadn't been updated in many years.
I still need to update the script for factorial and primorial.

What userid did you use on PRPNet when you found those primes? It's possible those primes got associated with another user ID, or with no ID at all.
The more information you can provide, the more likely it is I can restore the primes. If you know the prime numbers, which project they were found under, and approximately when they were found that will all help. But at a minimum, I need the PRPNet userID.

Figured it out.
Your PRPNet ID isn't associated with your BOINC id, probably because when you first used it either John or myself (depending on who was in charge at the time) couldn't figure out which BOINC ID to associate with your PRPNet ID.
Let me do a little digging and see if I can find those primes. And I'll do the correct mapping so future PRPNet credit and primes get credited to you.
