I assumed it would let me limit my default to a subset of the projects (IIRC originally done to stabilize DCF and default the selection to shorter tasks); while leaving the rest available as additional backups as needed.

But earlier this afternoon when my other project fell over, and boinc attempted to get work I got these messages in my event log:

10/10/2012 2:50:09 PM | PrimeGrid | Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
10/10/2012 2:50:09 PM | PrimeGrid | Requesting new tasks for CPU and NVIDIA
10/10/2012 2:50:12 PM | PrimeGrid | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
10/10/2012 2:50:12 PM | PrimeGrid | No work sent
10/10/2012 2:50:12 PM | PrimeGrid | Message from server: No work available for the applications you have selected. Please check your project preferences on the web site.

Since I haven't seen any threads about an outage on the boards, I'm assuming it's something related to my client/configuration; and that work was in fact available.

It's complicated, and my wife is rather impatiently waiting for me to get off the computer and come downstairs, so here's the short answer:

You have CPU, ATI, and Nvidia all enabled, but you don't have any projects selected for either ATI or for Nvidi. The server does strange things when you enable GPU tasks but don't select a project for the GPU.

So, either uncheck the ATI and Nvidia boxes, or select at least one project for either GPU if you leave it enabled. NOTE: Do NOT select the CUDA PPS-LLR project since there's no work available for that.

In addition to the above advice I strongly suggest you disable the ATI box as you do not have an ATI graphics card. It can confuse the server into trying to send work, finding no card hence no work and stopping there without checking for work for either CUDA or CPU.

I guess it could be called a bug, or at least a logic error, but if everyone always deselect devices they do not have it has no effect.
