Generalized Fermat Prime Search :
GFN on CPU -> Sieving or prime searching?

I have GFN running on my CPU's, but am I correct in thinking that I am just sieving at the moment and won't be able to find primes on my CPU? The reasons why I am asking is:
* There is no wingman checking these WU's
* The stats page doesn't feature a "primes found" line.
Since I am running PG to find primes, I guess it will be wiser to move to one of the LLR projects?

Your assumption is wrong, GFN (in BOINC) is primetesting. The trick is though that it doesn't absolutely proves it is prime. It shows it only with near certainty, not complete certainty. However, if you do find an almost certainly prime it will be verified by PG and you will get the credit for it if it really is prime. (Chances of that not happening are astronomically small)

GFN searches for primes. Two huge primes were found last week -- the two largest primes ever found at PrimeGrid and the 11th and 12th largest ever found anywhere. So yes, we most definitely find primes with GFN.
You absolutely should have a wingman on every GFN work unit. If you don't, please post a link to the task or work unit and I'll look into it.

This is the only one I'm seeing in the top 5000. Where's the other one?

Other one was found a few days after the one you note, so it is going through verification (remember that Genefer applications only PRP test, so either LLR or PFGW are needed to verify). Also, for the second one the prime finder has not yet responded to contacts so that all information can be properly put into the top 5000 submission, official announcement, etc.

The verification on both finished 2 or 3 days ago. At this point the delay is due only to being unable to contact the person who found it.
