If we shall start a new sieve I need some help to test what n to use.
I shall upload a file to www.uwin.mine.nu later today. :)
I like to have timings on different CPU.
Here are the first numbers I need times on.
46765677777:M:0:2:2
10000001535 1210001
10000000221 1230001
10000000155 1250001
10000000065 1270001
10000000299 1290001
10000001091 1310001
Use LLR 3.8.8
Post the results with time
CPU (not only the speed)
OS
32Bit or 64bit

I can test a few CPU types. Does it require 64-bit?

Copy the numbers from Lennart's post (including the header line into a file, e.g., "lennart.in") and then use the following command line:
llr -d lennart.in
The "-d" causes llr to print out information as it crunches.

Lennart, I just started running that bunch on my Core2Quad Q6600 @2.4GHz. The first one is running at about 2.243 ms per iteration. I'll post the full results once it's done. 64 bit Win7, llr 3.8.8. Not sure if llr is a 32 or 64 bit build. It's the llr from the PRPNet 5.0.7 distribution.
If I get a chance, I'll run it on a mobile Core2Duo and a mobile Core i3 also.

Just to make sure we're all comparing apples to apples, is there both a 32-bit build and a 64-bit build of llr 3.8.8? And if so, which one should the tests be done with?
I'm using the version of llr that came in PRPNet. 5.0.7, and it's happily running on 3 computers right now -- including a 32-bit Sempron CPU.

Thats not the main issue. Different CPU change FFT on different n.
What I try to find is a n level there as many CPU as possible stay on the same FFT.

Ok,
I'll have C2Q Q6600, i3-300M, and Sempron 3000+ benchmarks for you in a while. The C2Q is almost done. The i3 was overheating and slowing down, which caused inconsistent results (the second WU was significantly slower than the first), so I blew the dust out and restarted it. The Sempron... well, it will be done tomorrow morning. :)
If you're looking at the FFT's, do you want the stdout output from -d so you know what FFT is being used?
BTW, the Q6600 used this for the first 5 calculations:
Using zero-padded Core2 type-3 FFT length 128K, Pass1=128, Pass2=1K
And this for the sixth calculation:
Using zero-padded Pentium4 type-1 FFT length 144K, Pass1=96, Pass2=1536
Mike

As my laptop is not really fast I stopped the calculations after the first 10000 cycles and estimated the total run time by simple multiplication. I hope that is valid and still useful.

k value around 10G is not at all representative of the search. Maybe around 100T or even 1000T would be more relevant. |

Copy the numbers from Lennart's post (including the header line into a file, e.g., "lennart.in") and then use the following command line:
llr -d lennart.in
The "-d" causes llr to print out information as it crunches.
Okay, I am at a loss. I am doing something wrong, but cannot quite figure it out (that happens when I am in the middle of grading final exams frequently I think!).
I have done exactly as instructed above. I copied the numbers and header into a plain text file. I copied over the LLR file from my PRPnet 5.07 programs. When I run with the llr -d lennart.in command line (and yes, the file name is correctly spelled, etc.), I get nothing (just a delay and a new command line with cursor)? I do get an llr configuration file with the following:
Work=0

I would like a SGS reloaded, too. A silver batch is nicer than a bronce one. ;)
But please with Bulldozer support this time.

If the progress of the past 48 hours is anything to go by, the server will be empty within less than a week. Yes the overview says 27 days, but the day before yesterday it said 42 days...
