Andrew Uitvlugt, candidate for mayor of Kelowna, British Columbia, proposed in November to coax drug addicts into public jobs, such as trash collection, by rewarding them with crack cocaine, on the theory that the work would be so fulfilling that they would ultimately decline the drugs. BS is good for stats and that's all. The rest of the time they are trying to infiltrate into TFFE to blackmail those there.
Hence why you would not want to join either team on PrimeGrid.

MaSu has the perfect music, downloadble from their website. If you loved your 8bit computers, you'll love most of the music. As most of it has a SIDstation in their "rock" music.

ESEA (Earth Space Exploration Agency) is looking for more Agency Scientists.
It is obvious that research is abundant, and our supercomputer can't keep up with the current amount of processors. So, the Agency is looking for more staff and the processors that come with this additional staff.
Currently the supercomputer is operating in the mid 40 GFlop range, and we need at least 100 for the time being.
There are an unlimited amount of positions vacant - just plug-in your processors.

We're growing all the time - now over 510 members.
We support ALL the BOINC Projects
We have a very active forum (plenty of help, advice & fun to be had)
We have a dedicated Team website, with links to all the stats sites, carefully built up over time, so Team members can see where they are in the rankings).
And we like to have some FUN - hence the "Crunches" where we organise the Team members to crunch for specific projects, usually over a week-end once a month -this is just to build up some Team spirit.
We even have our own up-to-date per-project mailing list, auto-generated from each of the projects, (with thanks to David Anderson of BOINC for making a change to the BOINC XML's outputs after we requested this !!)

BOINC Synergy News - 8th June 2006

Ramblings of Zain...
Just a little update because I havent posted for a while.
Life
Life is flying along for me. As many of you know I am in full swing into Anaesthetic training here in Australia, and have NASTY nasty exams coming up in March. Yes March. Most people say its about 1000 hours worth of study to pass them... which if you do the math (I am sure you already have) thats 3 hrs a day for nearly a year!
Needless to say this is where MOST of my spare time goes. It will all be worth it in the end... and I love this line of work. Happy to finally find something I think I would love doing for the rest of my life.
Way too much personal info... *hehe* the internet is scary afterall.
BOINC Synergy
Things are trunding along just fine. While I cant do as MANY updates with all the study, I am still visiting daily, keeping the forum running (and spam free with the great help of Forum Mods) fixing small bugs as they appear (like the Einsten history bug, SETI History bug, small signature bug, a few other little ones).
The team continues to show great moral fibre... with a wonderfuly active forum that answers issues for every project with old school members and new members alike. No flame wars, good conversations about everything BOINC to world peace. I am so proud of the team.
And the team continues to grow. 4200 members have now signed up here at the site... nearly 1000 in the forum. The teams have been slowing in their growing rate... with generally a few members picked up every week into BOINC Synergy. Many people think BOINC Synergy is a project!!!!... and I have to point out were a team, and that if you dont join at each project your name wont appear in our team lists!
The Future
Work is underway to develop a new looking site, with new and better member and team functions... and then hopefully a spate of new stats, features and things which we all love.
Development is slow... and I am waiting on a few important factors. One is I have recently just moved and will be moving interstate in July. Once the connection is set up, a few pieces of software have been organised I will get a team of people up and working on it. It will be slow going at first (never run a project like this across the world with "strangers") but hopefully it will work out. We have a development server to test things on, and will be an exciting time.
Keep crunching hard, posting in the forum... and spreading the BOINC Synergy love.

SETI.USA was formed to consolidate people in the USA onto a single team with the goal of becoming the number 1 team in the world. The United States has nearly THREE times as many users and nearly FIVE times more credit than any other country. However, as there are so many people in different USA teams and many without any team affiliation, other counties appear to be doing better.
SETI.USA has been in existence for just a little over a year and a half and we have already become the most productive team in BOINC and currently hold the #5 position in the world for total credit. We are the only team to ever reach a RAC of 800,000 for combined projects and currently have a goal of 850,000 by Thanksgiving. We are well on our way to accomplishing our goal but we need your help. The USA has always been known for rising up and overcoming challenges like this.

It's been a while since the last news. Everything is running pretty good, and we're very satisfied. Currently there is a friendly exciting competition going on between Boinc Australia and all french speaking persons gathered in l'Alliance Francophone. Who will win is an interesting question, the French speaking guys have assembled an entire army, but the Australians are tough! Or will a third team arise and claim victory? Further more, today I rewrote part of the stats daemon, I hope it will be implemented tomorrow: stats can be updated more frequently and it contains a few bug fixes.

The Aussie Assault on ABC@Home is coming to an end and it has been a fantastic experience for all involved.
l'Alliance Francophone ran up nearly three million credits and us Aussies are just creeping up to the two million mark now.
At the end of the day, though, it's not just the credits - it's the enjoyment of competition, team spirit and understanding different nationalities/cultures.
The guys at AF now realise exactly what we try to achieve on these Aussie Assaults and have thanked us for showing them something extra that can be gained from BOINCing.
The head honcho on the project - Hendrik - deserves a special mention for keeping everything together while two teams of looneys went at it hammer and tongs!

Almost two weeks have passed since AA5 on ABC@Home drew to a nail-biting close.
Both teams - BOINC@AUSTRALIA and l'Alliance Francophone gained a lot from the two weeks.
We have also gained ground in combined ranking - now placed 25th overall in team ranking.
Some of the guys are having a 'mini-assault' on one of the 'medical' projects - why not visit our forums and see if you can find out which project?

G'day crunchers everywhere!
We are now starting Aussie Assault 6 (AA6). After being runner up in the last few polls for the AA, Einstein has been chosen to be the project which will receive our concentrated attention for the next few weeks.
Bruce Allen who is the Forum moderator, Project administrator, Project developer and Project scientist for Einstein has agreed, after much persuasion from members of the Team, and instigated by Mike Mitchell, to crunch Einstein for our Team. He has started this already and his numbers are very impressive.
The Aussie Assaults are a regular team-building exercise we run here at BOINC@AUSTRALIA - the results are always impressive and we have great fun at the same time. In the last Assault (on ABC@Home) another team - l'Alliance Francophone - learnt how much fun these assaults can be and helped both BOINC@AUSTRALIA and the project itself achieve spectacular results.

The target is WCG - World Community Grid. This project actually crunches four separate causes:-
1) Fight Aids at home
2) Genome comparison
3) Human Proteome folding
4) Help cure Muscular Dystrophy

G'Day Crunchers Everywhere!
Aussie Assault Number 9 is on the starting blocks and this time the target is QMC@Home.
The team will be concentrating a significant portion of their processing power on that project from
October 1st for the following two weeks.

Greetings, I founded an earlier group, but it wasn’t quite what I wanted, it was just a throw together. This group now, is for those that want to belong, and need a place to belong, no judgments, no questions. Everyone want’s something we all know that, Me I just want to contribute and think that the projects that advance science is a good way to do that. All that I ask is that you have a filled in profile, a valid email addy and are willing to share thoughts and discuss things as they are presented. I will eventually have a link to a webpage (probably MySpace) when I have time. And if you’re a wonderful writer or have any good with deep thought (grin) let me know. Now all the people that want, just join up, start a string in the discussion groups, and maybe more people will join. Just realize that I’m feeling my way into this and just don’t know where it will all head. The image that I’m using is what I consider my personal glyph, or symbol what have you, I chose it back when I was in high school, so it’s mine in my head at least. Join Team 'Allprojectstats.com'. I formed the team back in December of 2007, expecting it stay a one man show. After a few days I was joined by a couple of others. We're now nine strong, eight full-timers and one part-timer. I'm hoping we will continue to grow, as we're all very Team orientated and we'd all like to see some new crunchers share the Team Allprojectstats.com experience with us. If you're teamless or if you just want a breath of fresh air moving from another team, all are welcome! We represent Allprojectstats.com, an ever-developing Boinc Combined Statistics Site. It includes some very cool features which you won't find on other sites of this kind:
- FULL Team Member List, which shows you not only 'Full' members, but also 'Partial' members (those who have another predominant team but are crunching a few projects for the team displayed)
- Target Calculator: You enter the Credit Target that you're aiming for, and you'll get a precise date as to when you should achieve your goal (excluding any outages and quorum issues, obviously)
- Signature graphic generator: build your own Sigs. for user/team/team members. Another unique feature that can be used by anyone, no need to register!!
- Newly added " Hall of Fame " - which team's been in which position how many times!
- Team Forum
- Main Forum. All BOINCers are more than welcome to register, offer your opinions, ask for help, say what you think in general about our stats and our team.

Belgium, a small country with a great team: BOINC.BE
Today BOINC.BE entered the top 20 of all projects combined. A remarkable achievement for a team from a relatively small country like Belgium. With our recent average of over 600K/day we rank even higher, at position 16. This means that we can rise even further.
As a national team we only let 5 countries before us: the US, Germany, Canada, Australia and the Czech Republic. But we want to do better. We reach the vast majority of crunchers in the north of our country. We would like to launch a special appeal to our friends in the south to join our effort. Help us build a top team where all Belgians feel at home in a friendly, multilingual team and forum.

On March 24, 2005 Team SETI.USA was created to consolidate United States users and become the #1 SETI Team in the world. This goal was achieved within 24 months of inception thanks to the extraordinary efforts of our dedicated membership. To parlay that effort, and for the benefit of all BOINC distributed computing projects, Team SETI.USA's commitment to extend beyond a single project has begun. SETI.USA is now BOINCing the world! As of September 19, 2007 we reached our second goal of becoming the #1 team in overall BOINC!!! We are now working on taking #1 in other BOINC projects. 40 Million Credits!
The team has a presence in 56 Boinc projects.
As this milestone is passed on 11th June 2008 -
In 50 of the projects, the team is in the Top 10 UK ranking.
In 16 of the projects, the team is in the Top 50 World ranking.
Overall, the team is No. 7 in the UK and No. 105 in the World.
Not long to go until we reach the Top 100........

TEAM: Brian has an incredible 4 members spread out over 30+ projects. Our website is a complete joke and it has not been updated in a year or more. (Probably a lot more.) We have no goals and no drive. If you join TEAM: Brian you can expect nothing and TEAM: Brian expects nothing from you. TEAM: Brian does, however, have its own city. The city is actually just a huge waste of time.
So, in short, if apathy were a category for teams, TEAM: Brian wold be number one, but also wouldn't really care.

The US Navy team has a 'Project of the Month". We ask all members of any Navy team in the BOINC system to crunch work units for the selected project. The project selected for December is Cosmology at home.
If you can spare some of your computer power for the Cosmology at home please sign up with the Cosmology project and then sign on to the US Navy Cosmology team. Every little bit can help us keep ahead of the U.S.Air Force team.

Hay all,
The Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science ( http://www.primegrid.com/team_display.php?teamid=1090 ) is a welcome place not only for distributed computing, BOINC, PG, and stats-oriented individuals, but also for people with a general interest in using the scientific method via logic, reason, and structured investigation and study to solve the most important and difficult problems, and hopefully improve the lives of people worldwide. We believe in taking pride of where you live/are from, but that there are higher priorities than nationalism and crunching 'for your country'.
I'll keep the post short and sweet, for you can find information on the group's background and philosophies at http://www.richarddawkins.net, our message board that covers a comprehensive range of scientific subjects, of which BOINC/distributed computing comprises only a portion of fascinating discussion. We are also proud to have a high rate of participation (almost 250 active members and growing steadily) as well as a diverse range of participants--we equally value those with the slowest and oldest computers as well as those who have the budget to afford the latest state-of-the-art machines replete with the latest in GPU tech and the fastest CPUs. Whatever you can contribute, it is much appreciated, not only for the fun stats comps, but for cooperative contributions to scientific objectives. We maintain a presence in every single BOINC project, are consistently in the top 100 in each (as well as growing exponentially overall, only founded a couple of years ago and now quickly approaching top 100 overall, and in an 'honest' fashion--no cheaters here!), and have a few sub-50 rankings as well, and have achieved this with a hardscrabble group of crunchers - we've come across our numbers not in a flash-pan style with hot comps crunching MW and Collatz to artificially inflate our numbers (not that there's anything wrong with those projects; in fact I crunch both myself, but to exclusively crunch for those projects in hope of generating credits with not much thought for science)- we've achieved exponential growth via steadily adding members and emphasizing group participation. We're an international team, and welcome all regardless of race, creed, colour, nationality, sexual orientation, gender, or any of the other arbitrary stereotypes by which humankind foolishly divides itself.

*note: We're currently ranked ~#125 in PG, up about 40 positions in just a few weeks and up several positions in just the past couple of weeks). Our PG growth has been exponential, and we are well on our way to becoming among the top contributors to this project (even after a bit of a late start!).

On March 24, 2005 Team SETI.USA was created to consolidate United States users and become the #1 SETI Team in the world. This goal was achieved within 24 months of inception thanks to the extraordinary efforts of our dedicated membership. To parlay that effort, and for the benefit of all BOINC distributed computing projects, Team SETI.USA's commitment to extend beyond a single project has begun. SETI.USA is now BOINCing the world! Despite our team name, we are not a SETI@home only team, nor are we solely a USA team. We welcome members from all over the world and any project that you may fancy. As of September 19, 2007 we reached our second goal of becoming the #1 team in overall BOINC!!! We recently reclaimed that #1 position that was lost for a little while thanks to the rise in GPU crunching. We recently surpassed the large milestone of 5,000,000,000 credit for all BOINC projects combined, as well as we have reached the 1,000,000,000 credit for both the SETI@home and Milkyway@home projects. We are now working on taking #1 in other BOINC projects. Within the last year we have taken over the #1 position in quite a few projects. Join with us as we boldly go where no team has gone before!
