Hey!

I recently tried to run PRPNet on my laptop, which has Fedora 15 (32-bit) installed.
I downloaded the 32-bit linux package and extracted it. After I edited the master config file, and ran the install and update scripts, the start script will not start the clients.
It gives an error that xterm can not be found. So i went on the hunt, and installed the xterm package thinking that may solve the problem but it didn't. The error now states that xterm is unable to load a font (with a really long name).

Any ideas?

PS. I also noticed that the clients would not lauch manually unless i ran chmod against all of the executables in the client folders. Is that the correct thing to do?

I do not know with gnome (especially which version is being used) but with KDE you probably can replace the 'xterm' with 'konsole' in the X-start-prpclient.sh file that you are using. But I do not bother with using the X-start-prpclient.sh with Linux (Fedora 14) any more because it opens too many windows. Rather I just change into each directory and run
$./prpclient >l.log 2>e.log &

That way I can go back into from another host and check status etc.

Which archive and how did you extract the archive?
You have to be careful to use the correct flag ('x') with 7z.

I downloaded "prpclient-4.3.0beta-linux_32.zip" from the link in the PRPNet thread and extracted it just using the "Extract here" option in the file browser.

I'm going to try an older version of the client to see if that makes a difference, I may just start the clients manually since the computer is rarely shut down.

well - I work on servers without a display-manager.
For each PRPClient I want to let run, I start a "screen"-session in which I start "./prpclient".
Now I am able to detach and re-attach the screen-session to look for details; in most cases a fast look into ./prpclient.log or ./testresult.log on filesystem is enough.
