I have only been a member of PrimeGrid for a few months and things ran smoothly until recently when I started getting errors. Here is the dump of the error.
<core_client_version>6.10.58</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>

<stderr_txt>
Sieve started: 56955038000000000 <= p < 56955044000000000

Computation Error: no candidates found for p=56955038259671887.

Can someone tell me if something has happened to my video card or is something else is wrong.
Thanks.

This error is generated when the requested slot number (the working directory for a result) is negative.
Means either you are using an av-solution and made no exceptions for the complete boinc-folders or your OS needs a simple reboot.

I have rebooted my Windows 7 computer and am still getting the same error. I don't know what you you mean about "av-solution and made no exceptions for the complete boinc-folders". I haven't changed any configuration information since I started PrimeGrid. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I think av-solution means anti-virus software. The question is, have you changed anything else on your system (not necessarily boinc) or did the error just start popping up. Also, have you over clocked your 460 and if so by a lot or just a bit. Part of what Ronald was saying is that if the folder you have boinc running is not available or files in it are not available because of some new or change in your antivirus software then you can't update some needed files.
I'm just wondering on the 460 overclock because I overclocked my 460 and ran into issues on some other projects. Once I reduced the over clock things smoothed back out.
If you open your boinc task up, go to messages and go to the top it will tell you what working folder it's using such as Data directory : "folder path and name".

Yep, av-solution means antivirus-software. Do you use any other 3rd party firewalls like "zonealarm"?

I use Microsoft Defender for my anti-virus and don't have any 3rd party software for firewall or anti-virus. The programs I only software that I have loaded recently has been Microsoft updates. I have at GeForect GTX 470 video card and it seems to be running correctly. I do not have anything over clocked and like I said this problem only started about a week or so ago. It appears that nearly all of the Cuda tasks are failing...or at least a big portion. Any ideas for things I could try would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

You crunched CW Sieve successfully as recent as 2-3 hours ago (1136 UTC), but over the same period your PPS Sieve tasks fell over, the latter starting to fall over as the last CW succeeded at 1136 UTC.
Just an observation - I have not crunched NVidia here - in case it triggers something in the mind of NVidia readers re differences/pre-req needs between CW & PPS Sieve. GPU speed or memory speed perhaps ??

WHAT?!
Oh, I see. Sorry about that. I co-opted that exit code for my own purposes. Seemed better than outputting "1 unknown error" all the time. I needed an exit code for "CPU failed to find any factor in the range where GPU reported a factor", and this seemed like the best code to use.
There's no anti-virus issue. This is just your standard, run-of-the-mill computation error on a GPU.

My question is why all of a sudden my Proth Prime Search (sieve) tasks are all failing. They were working for a couple of months and then all of a sudden they started failing. My other tasks that use the CUDA processors are working fine. Any ideas, or should I just stop trying to work on the PPS tasks?
Thanks.

Any chance you upgraded your drivers recently? I haven't tested any drivers over the 260.* generation.

Here is my Nvidia configuration. I didn't update my driver until Friday (4/22/2011) but the problem started about 10 to 12 days ago.

Thanks for the help everyone. Apparently my 4 month old MSI N470GTX video board developed some issues when using the CUDA processors. Somethings it would work right on and other it wouldn't. I have sent the card back for repair/replacement and in the mean time have replaced it with a much less powerful 430. Hopefully it will be back in a couple of weeks.
