The credits are based on CPU performance to complete a WU.
The PPS Sieve is far more efficient than the GCW Sieve on CUDA,
hence more work done in less time => greater credits.

Not particularly likely as far as I understand it.
The search parameters for PPS Sieve are significantly better suited to GPUs than GCW Sieve will ever be.
