The base of 5 seems arbitrary. Why not base 3 or base 7?

I was not expecting daily stats to actually mean total stats.
I thought it would be the stats for that day.
Please understand that I am not complaining about the stats at all, I just think calling them daily stats is a little misleading.
As usual, I'd like to thank everyone involved in hosting this project.
Personally I find contributing to PrimeGrid to be a very rewarding pastime.

Hi Peter
these inaccurate expressions come from the fact that English is not my native language.

With "daily stats" I tried to express: the score on a given day in the past, so a memory point of the data provided on the PRPNet port.

If there is a better short expression in the given context, I am happy for any other suggestion

Alright, so the base has to be of the form 1 + 2^x, where x is a positive integer. When x = 2, the base is 5. When x = 1, the base is 3. So why not start with base 3 first? Why not also include the bases of 9, 17, 33, 65, 129, etc.? Will the project ever expand into these other bases?

Bases 3 and 7 have very large conjectured k's,

R3 with k=63064644938
R7 with k=408034255082
S3 with k=125050976086
S7 with k=1112646039348

As you can tell, that's a lot of k's to search and find primes for. Base 5 was simply the next lowest practical choice that a small enterprising group of searchers could hope to do. In comparison, base 5 has the following conjectured k's:

R5 with k=346802
S5 with k=159986

The project CRUS is working on Riesel and Sierpinski conjectures for bases <= 1030.

SR5 Prime Found!

Congratulations to Peter (Puzzle-Peter) for finding PrimeGrid's first SR5 prime since the official collaboration with the Sierpinski/Riesel Base 5 Project: 301016*5^586858-1.

The prime is 410,202 digits long and enters Chris Caldwell's The Largest Known Primes Database ranked 2nd for SR5 primes and 192nd overall. The discovery was made using an Intel dual Xeon E5460 @ 3.16GHz with 16GB RAM, running 64 bit Linux. This computer took about 57 minutes 30 seconds to prp and 3 hours and 29 minutes to complete the primality test using LLR. Peter is a member of Team SETI.Germany.

SR5 is currently available in PRPNet. To participate, use this server:

server=SR5:100:1:prime2u.com:7171

That's when I could see the calculations that I do on this project in PRPNet my stats because I do not see the line move SR5 ...

I have 4 client on this project ... and units, it seems to me were sent to the server ...
