As the title implies I found my first prime number:
1281*2^594565+1
This is the First Prime I have found and just wanted to let everyone know.
As a mater of fact I was surprised to see that I did find a prime number, after all its only 2 of my personal computers that are crunching. |

It was and is a very special post and worthy of respect.
Before your post I didn't know 1281*2^594565+1 was prime.
After your post I didn't care 1281*2^594565+1 was prime.
You defined a moment in time. It will live forever in marking the passing of human knowledge.
Keep them coming ( preferably only as double checker until you join Aggie The Pew.)
Good Job!

Fingers crossed for the SoB; they are hard to complete.
On a re-read I can see it is possible that people might think I was being cynical in my last post on this thread. I don't intend to be. I really am pleased you found the prime. I think it is a fantastic job and I am really pleased you found it and also that shared your justifiable pleasure in finding it.
Cheers!

Now there's the real xmas spirit :) Oh and I think the prime was a PPS or at least that's what showed up on the reported primes...

Actually no Rick. It didn't come out right. I'd tried to encompass that special moment in time between not knowing something and knowing it and how Ion Basa's work encapsulated it and advanced human knowledge. And it didn't come out right.
Probably I spent too much time Christmas shopping... |

Don't sweat it, I wasn't offended in any way.

Yes it was on PPS, and I got 6.004 credit for it. |

Well done!
And gratz on completing SoB units, I run so much experimental stuff on my computer I crash it too often to get a successful SoB unit completed, so I stick to WU that take less than an hour to crunch these days. |
