OK, so I have a 460 to replace the 280 that died yesterday. This thing is twice as fast, half the price, draws less power, runs a LOT cooler and is 2 to 3 inches shorter than the dead card.
I noticed it's running at around 89% rather than thr 99% the 280 ran at. As a result, there's no GUI lag that I can tell. Even videos run smoothly while it's crunching. So I'm really heartbroken. I'm sure you can tell. :)
(Both the old and new cards have lifetime warrantees, so I'll get the old one fixed and have it as a spare. Temporarily running on my old OEM 7350 LE when the 280 broke was pretty painful.)
Here's my question. The 460 came with drivers version 258.96. Is that the best driver to be using? I know there's newer version 260 drivers out there, but were there problems with those? I vaguely recall some chatter about the v260 drivers, but wasn't really paying attention.
