No PPS tasks this morning?

During the Tour de Primes, I have my account set to run only PPS LLR WUs, since this will also leave me positioned for the upcoming challenge.
This morning at about 4:08am EST (9:08 UTC), I was sent about 4 WUs of other subprojects because the server told my BOINC client that there were no PPS units available.
Aside from the SoB unit, which I'll suspend for a couple of days, everything will be done before the challenge. I'm just curious if steps will be taken to insure that there won't be a shortage of PPS tasks during the challenge...

Once again, this morning there have been no PPS tasks available for several hours. I've got my account set to only accept PPS tasks, so that I don't have any longer tasks still running when the challenge begins on Sunday. So now I've got a bunch of cores sitting idle because the server doesn't have any tasks to send me.
Is this a normal thing that I just never noticed because I'm usually not so picky about what type of WU's I'll accept, or is there something else going on, like holding back WU's in preparation for the challenge?

In UTC-Morning-Hours there is a scheduled maintenance and all clients which try to get work then are told to come back later. If the come to often they geht hit by a one to two hours penalty. I have set my cache to 0.06 days and do run dry for some minutes but i am willing to accept this. I the maintenance is over and i refresh manually i do get work immediately. | |

This is not the issue today...I am getting all sorts of other tasks because I forgot to set the "other work if not available" setting to no. The severs are up, but with no PPS LLR work.

The tally on the front page of the site showed 0 PPS WUs available for several hours this morning. When I just looked, it showed 2 WUs available.
I set my account to take a round of PPS Sieve WUs in the interim, but I would prefer to just be able to leave my machines crunching PPS LLR WUs going into the weekend, since the challenge begins over the long weekend.
Does this have something to do with withholding WUs in advance of the challenge, or is it unrelated?
