I just saw that the Ada Lovelace Day Challenge has changed to become the Prime Meridian Day Challenge, and the start moved up to...tomorrow!
"This 8th challenge of the 2022 Series will be a 10-day challenge celebrating the 1884 international agreement to standardize the official 0° longitude -- AKA the Prime Meridian! The challenge will be offered on the CUL-LLR and WOO-LLR applications, beginning 01 November 05:00 UTC and ending 11 November 05:00 UTC.
To participate in the Challenge, please select only the Cullen Prime Search (LLR) and Woodall Prime Search (LLR) projects in your PrimeGrid preferences section."

Started pre-testing. Probably will only run one system on this. Initial indication is WOO would be 5 hours a unit. If CUL scales according to the official thread that could put it around 3h. If time will estimate points/time for each for my specific system. | |

Think I'll have to shut down before the end of the challenge. I'm preparing for house move, where I have overlap with moving before sale completes. It is time to move the desktop that I use.
I learned my lesson, and left a note to myself for all future moves: Don't try to leave your computers running until the night before! It takes much longer than you think to dismantle them, and there's too many other last-minute things to do.

Fortunately this isn't a hard deadline for me to move but it is a good time regardless. Basically selling house and moving in with friends before deciding longer term plan. I hoped to move earlier but selling process is taking forever, which isn't a bad thing since packing is also taking forever. I've moved several loads already but as I remove stuff it will come to a point where the house is going to be a challenge to stay in. | |
